4th
Degree Assembly #0167
Faithful
Navigator Report
Dear Sir Knights and Ladies
Our Communion Mass and Dinner was a great success with
ninety-five registered guests. Thank You to our Class of 2003 for putting on a great Dinner, especially to Peter Pezzati for
stepping forward in a Leadership Role. We also owe a Special Thanks to Fr. Jack Mullen for presiding at Mass.
Our Assembly sponsored an Essay Contest on The Responsibility
of the Catholic Citizen in a Free Society, receiving twenty-five applications from local Catholic schools. Judging was not
an easy task; however the winner at the Eighth Grade level was Michelle Kernan and the Twelfth Grade level winner was Sabrina
Semblante. Each will receive a $250.00 Savings Bond from the Assembly. Special thanks to Leonard Anzalone GK and Steve Christie
PFN, PGK for Co-chairing this event.
Our next Assembly meeting will be May 27, 2004. This is
an important meeting ; we will be voting on Officers for the 2004-2005 fiscal year and we will be voting on a By-Laws change.
As your 2003-2004 Officers near the end of their terms, it is time to take care of the unpleasant duties. In June, Monsignor
Elslander Assembly will be 52 years old and, as best as we candetermine, has never had an increase in dues. On March 25, 2004, your Officers voted to increase the Annual Dues from $10.00 to $20.00 per year. First
reding was at our April meeting with the final vote scheduled for our May 27th meeting.
Please keep Gordon Zanetti, Jr. in your prayers. He is
the Seminarian our Assembly is supporting with a monthly check
through the R.S.V.P Program. This summer, he will be serving
as a Chaplain in the Navy for six weeks. He needs both our spiritual and monetary support to complete his vocation. One Good
Priest Can Make A Difference.
I would like to thank our Nominating Committee for a job
well done. They are Chairman John Rogge PFN, PGK, FDD; Leonard Anzelone GK; Chuck Biondolillo, GK; Bill Ballard, PGK and Sal
Naomo, PFN. This was the first year that they had Two councils from which to choose. THANKS to all who accepted their nominations.
Fraternally,
Your Faithful
Navigator, Paul Bourquin
Editors Column:
I have been very remiss in that I failed to thank Father
George for allowing the Knights of Columbus to use the Church Copier to run off our Newsletter and other papers as long as
we bring our own paper and buy a toner cartridge as needed. We have done so for two issues and I do thank Father George greatly
on behalf of the Council
Our first year is drawing to a close. Though we had our
problems during this period, this Council does owe our Grand Knight, Chuck Biondolillo, and his Officers our gratitude for
their determination and hard work that has brought us to where we are at this time. The Council can now continue to build
on their foundation by working together as one body in our love of the Knights of Columbus and our love for our Church, and
the fellowship of our Brother Knights.

Dear Ladies
At our May meeting we welcomed a new member, Geri Welch, to our auxiliary. We are delighted to have you join us Geri. Welcome! Welcome! We now have 23 paid-up
members
Corky Pezzati was our guest at our May meeting, and hopefully shell
decide to join our group Come on Corky. We need you.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 2nd, at
7 PM in the Parish Hallthe same time the men have their meeting, so Ladies, please come and join us and ride in with your
husbands.
We discussed further derails and dates for the following events we
would like to have. Here is our schedule so far, on Friday, September 17th a Luau is planned dinner and dancing;
Friday, January 7th 2005, we will have a show featuring Cahal Dunne, an excellent entertainer, with dessert and
coffee after the show; Friday, January 28th,we have another dinner dance with possibly a Winter Wonderland theme;
and Sat March 5th, a luncheon and fashion show is in the wind.
A very special thanks to the ladies that volunteered to Chair these
events: Barbara Piccone and Marge Barclay for the two dinner/dances; Geri Welch and Jenni McGinn for the Fashion Show; and
Marge Barclay for checking on the entertainment for our Show.
It would be appreciated if we could have the entire membership attend
our meetings for your suggestions and ideas, so that our events can be successful. A great deal of planning goes into these
functions and we will need all the help we can get.
I would like to thank Josephine Spellman who donated her winnings on
the 50/50 money back to the auxiliary for deposit. Also Josephine picked up a very nice belated birthday card for Fr Mike
at the suggestion of Chris Boucher, we all signed it and I might add that he
was very happy to receive it.
Ladies, please join your husbands the third Sunday of every month at
the 11:30 Mass for the Council Communion. It would be so nice if we could have a large turn-out.
Im disappointed that we didnt get to see Marie Beckers beautiful quilt
that evening. Time just flew by with all we had on our agenda, but hopefully, well get to see it at our June meeting.
We joined the men for coffee and dessert and listened to a very informative
speaker, Lt Hart from the Sarasota County Sheriffs Department who spoke to us on safety in our homes and on the road.
If anyone knows of any member that is under the weather, please give
our Sunshine Lady, Josephine, a call at 379-0597.
Hope to see you all at the next meeting.
Remember that June 14th is Flag Day. Let us on that day
honor our flag and honor that fraternal Feeling we share as fellow Americans.
Let us all pray for peace. God Bless. Happy Fathers Day

Insurance
Recently, the Order introduced the Accelerated Benefits Option to insureds
who own a permanent plan of life insurancesuch as whole lifein face amounts of $50,000 or more. This benefit is being made
available to all existing plans that qualify.
Basically the ABO, as we call it allows a policy owner to request a
portion of the policys proceeds if the insured has a medical condition with a resulting life expectancy of less than one year.
Fifty percent of a policys death benefit is available in either one or two payments to qualified insureds. Accelerated Benefit Option payments made under policies covering an insured cannot exceed $100,000
and no payment of less than $5,000 will be made.
The supreme knight will correspond by mail with each policy owner who
is currently eligible to have the Accelerated Benefit Option added to his or her policy. In Addition, our agents are being
sent ABO Certificates that are to be delivered to eligible policy owners to be kept with their insurance contract. If you
are an eligible policy owner, please welcome his call and set an appointment so you can get your certificate.
If you are not the owner of an eligible policy, or would like more
information, contact your agent.
