Chaplain’s Column:
This month, we take the time to celebrate Valentine’s Day by exchanging cards and letters expressing the
love that we feel for our family, relatives, and friends. However this is just a basic part of love. I often wonder just how
many of us express our love for our neighbors, our fellow mankind that we meet on the streets, or even those homeless persons
wandering around looking for a place to lay their heads or get a bite of food. Now I don’t mean that you must throw
your arms around everyone you meet and tell them you love him. No, our spiritual love for mankind pushes us to give of ourselves
doing what we can for our neighbor when they are in need of assistance, no matter how little or big their needs. Neighbor
means all those with whom you do come in contact. Our spiritual love equates to Charity. By your charitable acts, you are
known to God, “for in as much as you have done to the least of these, you have done to me”, said the Lord. As
St John wrote in his Letter to the faithful in Asia Minor:” My dear children, let us not love in
word, neither with the tongue, but in deed and truth”( 1 St. John 3:18)
May God bless you and sustain you

Brother Knights
Our January business meeting had 28 of our Brother Knights in attendance, which is on par with our normal attendance
record of between 25 and 30 per month. After our January meeting Brother Ernie Forchetti submitted his resignation as our
Financial Secretary. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Ernie for all the hard work and untold hours that he put
into the position trying to keep our records straight with Supreme and all our billings done on time. His service to this
Council has been outstanding. Ernie is not leaving the Council but needs more time to devote to his families needs.
February will be a very active month for the Council. The weekend of February 11th and 12th
we will be honoring those couples in the parish who have been married for 20, 25,50 or more years at all the masses with white
carnations. The Celebrant of the Mass will bestow a special blessing on all the couples.
Then on the weekend of February 25th and 26th we will be holding our annual Handicap Drive (formerly
know as the Tootsie Roll Drive) at all the masses. With these two events we will be needing volunteers to help at all the
doors of the church. On Thursday February 16th our social meeting, will feature Father Robert Consani who is a long-standing entertainer. Coming from the upper peninsula
of Michigan, we will offer his unique song and comedy performance. Fr. Consani spent for years in the Army during the
Korean War and has been a Catholic priest for over 42 years. He is a former professional ice skater and entertainer.
He has been a featured speaker and entertainer at some 500 events over the years. So please be sure to mark your calendars
and bring the entire family out for this evening.
The Council is still in need of an editor
for this monthly newsletter. If you ever had the itch to be a publisher this is your opportunity. Can’t guarantee you
will win a Pulitzer Prize but it can offer you some very interesting challenges. Please let me know if you are interested.
Fraternally yours in Christ

Navigator Report
Dear Sir Knights and Ladies:
I would like to wish the best of luck to the newly installed officers of the Ladies Auxiliary, and that they have
a wonderful and prosperous year.
Well, the holidays are over and I'm sure that things were hectic in your homes. Now comes the time when things
are going to get hectic for the Councils and the Assembly.
Before I list the Calendar of Events for this month, I'd like to tell you about the trip we took to the Bay
Pines V.A. Hospital in St. Petersburg on Dec. 28. Twelve Sir Knights showed up at Council 3358's parking lot around noon and
we car-pooled to the Hospital. We were met by one of the directors of the facility, who proved to be invaluable to us throughout
our visit. He led our group to the Nursing Home building, and once inside, he introduced us to whoever was in the recreational
area enjoying the day. We came with a stack of Christmas/ New Year cards, and we were able to buy coupon books to hand out
to the Vet's along with the cards. They can use the coupon books as cash to buy things for themselves. He then split us up
into two groups, and we visited both wings of the building and everyone in each room. It was a very rewarding experience for
us, and the Vet's loved to chat with us and have visitors. We hope to go back soon. We also gave them a donation of $200.
On January 8th, the Color Corps was asked to attend the wake of Richard Lynn, who is the Brother of the Florida
State Squires Chairman, Mark Lynn. Both Richard and Mark are 4th Degree Sir Knights; We were honored to serve, and I later
received a letter of thanks from Mark, expressing his appreciation to us from him and his family.
On January 8th, our Color Corps attended the 50th Anniversary celebration of the Epiphany Cathedral. There were three
Assembly Color Corps represented, and we totaled about 23 men. It was a big event for our Diocese and Bishop Nevins was very
happy to see us there. A big "Thank You" goes out to my "Color Corps Commander" Tom Dineen for all the work he has been doing
in organizing and gathering enough men for each Color Corps event.
On February 24th, Council 3358 is hosting its annual "Clergy and Altar Server Night". This is usually
a well-attended affair, so let's do it again this year and show our
Priests, Deacons, Nuns and Altar Servers that we love them and support them.
Tickets are now on sale for the 4th Degree 20-Week Club. Please support it.
God Bless You All.

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies:
Happy Valentines Day! Wishing you much happiness and joy.
At our January meeting we started collecting 2006 dues. Our Membership Chairperson, Rosemary
Biondolillo, will contact all unpaid members. Dues can be paid at the March meeting or by mail. Send $10.00 (checks
payable to Ladies Auxiliary K of C Council 13307) to Barbara Piccione 8324 Barton Farms Blvd. Sarasota, Fl.. 34240
Our "Big Show" was very successful. "Dominic" is a great entertainer. Everyone enjoyed
him. Marge Barclay did a wonderful job as chairperson of this event. The "Angel" quilt raffle was also very successful.
The winner of the quilt is Joanne Gilbert. She is a member of St. Patrick parish and has been since before the church
was built. She is a Eucharistic Minister and reader at the 11:30 a.m. mass. She was out of town when I called
her on her cell phone and extremely happy at the news of her winning. Marie Becker and I presented her with the
quilt at church before the 11:30AM Mass. I took some pictures.
"March Into Spring" is the theme of this year's Fashion Show and Luncheon to be held on March 11, 2006
at the Laurel Oak Country Club at 11:30 a.m. Fashions will be supplied by Draper's and Damon's. Tickets are $25.00
per person and are available from Marie Palazzo at 377-2382. This is a major fund raiser for us. Please try to
get a table of your friends to attend. We also need items for door prizes. Please bring them to the next meeting
on Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 7:00PM or call me and I will be happy to pick them up.
Lindsay Evans resigned as our Treasurer because her husband, Andrew, has accepted a job offer in Pittsburgh,
PA and they will be moving there as soon as possible. We will miss her very much. She has been a very essential
and valuable member. "Good Luck" Lindsay and Andrew in your new endeavor and “God Bless You Both”
Don't forget to come to the K of C Social Night on February 16, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Entertainment
will be provided by Father Robert Consani. He is a good friend of mine and my husband, Michael. He is a great
entertainer and you don't want to miss seeing him. He is from Kalamazoo, Michigan and works at St. Cecelia's parish
there in the summer. In the winter he lives in Sun City Center, FL and helps out at Prince of Peace parish and St. Anne's
parish. He plays golf almost everyday. He is a musician and a comedian. You will love him.
Corporate Mass will be on February 19, 2006 at the 7:30AM Mass. Please try to attend.
If you hear of any member that is ill, please notify me at 379-3311. Please pray for peace and for
our men and women serving in the military.
God Bless and keep all of you.

YOUR
BUSINESS BELONGS HERE
Do you know that the Knights of Columbus can offer you annuities, IRA’s, and Keogh Plans?
Do you know enough about them to decide whether or not they fit into your financial picture?
I would like to ask you to answer three questions:
1. Are you, like most people, interested in saving money?
2. Do you find it difficult to save money under common saving methods?
3. Take the number of years you've been working times your average salary. What percentage of that income have you saved so
far? How much will you save in the future?
If your answers bother you, I would like the chance to sit and talk with you (and your wife, of course)
about our alternatives---- annuities and tax-sheltered savings at highly competitive interest rates. You need not look anywhere
else but your own Order for your financial needs. Other institutions bombard you with ads for your business this time of year.
We just keep doing what we have been doing since Father McGivney founded the Order---taking care of our members and
their families.
Call me today. Ron Foley your council Field Agent at 941-776-2902. I want to hear from you. Things
are changing in our programs for the good; let me give you the details.
Fraternally, Ronald A. Foley, Field Agent
