Chaplain’s Column:
We are nearing the end of the Advent Season, a Season in which we prepared ourselves to receive “The Messiah”
who was foretold by the Prophets to come and lead us into the Kingdom of God. He, Jesus Christ, has come and we celebrate
his Birthday on December 25th. But in today’s world, just how many people even think about the real meaning
of Christmas. It is not about getting and trimming the Christmas tree, nor rushing around buying and getting the presents
ready to be mailed or placed under the tree. And it is most assuredly not about how many parties you are to go to. No-the
real meaning of Christmas is about the glory that God has sent to earth on that day---a baby, Christ the Savior. So on this
most precious day of days, let us take the time to bow and give him honor-God’s greatest gift to all—Jesus Christ,
Our Savior!
Have a blessed and a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Grand Knight’s Column
Brother Knights
The following is a copy of a letter to John A,. Pecilunas, Deputy Grand Knight and dated November 28, 2005:
“ It is with a very sad heart that this letter is written informing you that I am resigning as Grand Knight
of Council #13307 effective January 1, 2006. This action is being taken for personal reasons. We have placed our home up for
sale with the intention of moving out of Florida.
It is also my intention to be relieved of my responsibilities as Editor of the Sarasota Compass effective with
the December 15th , 2005 issue. It is my hope that a member will step forward to assume this duty.
I sincerely pray that all members of the Council will unite with you in your fulfillment of the remaining term
of my office as Grand Knight. It is also my desire to thank all who have worked so hard with me in this Council over the past
eighteen months. Without
your assistance and prayers, I could not have accomplished much at all. I thank you all Sincerely in Christ, my Brothers and Friends
Ozro N Barclay”
Now, it is time for my retirement. The past 18 months as your Grand Knight has been a period wherein our Council
has fulfilled all the principles of our Order and in so doing, has accomplished much for our Church, Community, Families,
and the Youth of our parish. But these achievements were not done because of just one individual. There were many of you who
worked along with me, many of you who put their time and energy in the works of the council. It will be hard to leave you
when the time comes. I will take many fond memories and friendships with me. You and the Council will always remain in my
thoughts and most importantly, my prayers. But until my home is sold, I will remain a part of the Council and assist where
ever I may.
Our Council is not comprised of several individuals who direct the actions and works of it, but all the Brothers
working as one for its betterment. Support your Officers and give of yourselves that the Council will grow and do wondrous
deeds
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Fraternally Yours in Christ

Navigator Report
Dear Sir Knights and Ladies
This month should be a lot less hectic than it was in November. Last month, along with our regular Officers and
General meetings, we had as open house for all 4th degree Candidates and anyone else who would be attending the
Exemplification in Orlando. This year, it was held at the beautiful Marriott World Center Hotel. I will give a full report
on how great it was in my next month’s report.
Our Annual Past Grand Knight /Past Faithful Navigator Dinner and Ceremony was a memorable occasion. Thank you to
all who helped inputting this event together and most of all, a special thanks goes out to all of you who attended and helped
to make it a special affair.
Since we’ve been fortunate enough to have many new Sir Knights join our Assembly this year, I’m hoping that most of them will also become
Color Corps members. I know that it is a great feeling to attain the highest Degree of Knighthood, but being in the Color
Corps just completes the package. As Color Corps members, we are men who are truly proud of representing the Knights, and
we are able to show it
when we wear our regalia and attend weddings, funerals, parades, corporate Communions, or any other function we are invited
to attend. We are the visible arm of the Knights of Columbus. Among our ranks, are many members who have been marching for
years and now are getting too old to march. They can never be thanked enough for their service, but we need to be able not
only to replace these men, but add more. We now have members from three councils—Our Lady of Victory, St Patrick, and
St’s Cosmos and Damian Councils. Lets us hope that all our new Sir Knights will want to join the color Corps.
This month, our Officers meeting is on Dec 8th, and our General Meeting will be held on Dec 22nd
at 8:00PM Since this
is the month with the biggest “Holy-Day” of the year, many members will be visiting with out of town family members,
attending their various Council’s holiday functions such as Christmas Decorating, Christmas parties, and most important
of all, Christmas Services. On Christmas Day we will be exchanging presents and enjoying each other’s company, but most
importantly, the reason we have Christmas is because Christ was born on that day. By our deeds and actions, we Knights and
our Families set an example to everyone around us, that Jesus is the is the Reason for the Season

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies:
Truthfully, I thought I had written my last report for the Ladies Auxiliary, but our Grand Knight informed me differently.
I would just like to repeat myself if I may, and once again say that it has been an honor and my pleasure to serve as your
President for the past two years.
I would also like to thank my officers:
Vice President----Chris Boucher
Secretary----------Phyllis Capriola
Treasurer----------Diane Parotino
Guard--------------Abby McBride
For their support, dedication, and a job well done. Ladies, I could not have done it without you.
Congratulations once again to our incoming officers for next year and I am certain that all the other members wish
you the best of luck.
I’m happy to report that we have reimbursed the Knights for the balance of the outdoor light facing the entrance
to the parish hall. Doesn’t it light up the entrance beautifully? We can now say that was “our donation”
to the church.
Our next meeting is on Thursday, January 5th, at 7PM in the Parish Hall. I certainly hope that there
will be a nice turnout at that time.
The Parish Christmas Celebration was very well attended and the dinner, prepared by the Knights and members of
the Church was delicious. What a delightful Way to start the month with all of
the St Patrick parishioners getting together on a Sunday afternoon .The children enjoyed the various activities
provided them .
Congratulations to Jan Coates our lucky 50/50 winner, who was kind enough to donate her half of the money back
to the treasurer.
Ladies, just a reminder, That the Corporate Mass for this month was cancelled due to being so near to Christmas.
Congratulations to Jenni McGinn and Geri Welch, our Ladies of the Month.
I know that I speak for all of us wishing Marge and Oz Barclay all the best of luck. They will be moving in the
near future and we thank them both for all their hard work and dedication.
Again , may I repeat myself?
The holiday season is a special time of the year. It’s a
time to look back and recall cherished memories of the past. It’s a time of thanksgiving, expressing appreciation for
the many gifts of the present. It is also a time to look toward the future and fill it with new hopes and dreams. May your
Christmas season be filled with wonderful memories, many things to be grateful for, and new dreams to inspire you. I wish
each and everyone a very merry and Blessed Christmas and a very healthy and happy New Year. Pray for peace , our men and women
serving our country and for all our family and friends, and let us not forget our “Council” family.
God Bless. Loretta L. Naimo, President

Brother Knights and Ladies
We can all remember the story of Scrooge and his failure to believe in the spirit of Christmas. To all but the
Scrooges of the world, the celebration of the birth of Christ brings a warm feeling of family ties, a joy and pleasure that
our faith brings to others.
That same feeling comes from owning life insurance. Just knowing that, because of what you have planned, your loved
ones will have joys and comfort for years to come if something should happen to you. I don’t think that Scrooge would
have believed in life insurance either, but men of good will do. And the world is a better place because of them. Through
life insurance, they know that comfort and security will not be for only one day, but, instead a gift that will provide for
their loved ones for years to come. This Christmas, give a gift of security and protection to your loved ones. Happy and Holy Holidays to all my brother
Knights and your Families. Merry Christmas!

T’was 3
weeks before Christmas and in our hall
The Knights
of Columbus were having a ball
They
decided a Christmas Dinner to bake
With
all of the trimmings from gravy to cake
At first
you could hear the music so clear
The sounds
of singing and playing, Oh dear
This
wonderful combo, what a surprise
This
mixture of music brought tears to our eyes.
And up
to the buffet in anticipation we went
In all
our great hunger, we made a big dent
The turkey
so tender, and gravy delicious
With
mashed potatoes and oh so nutritious.
The dressing
so tasty, we had a big helping
Of luscious
green beans; our tummy’s quit yelping.
The drinks
were there and plentiful too
Take
what you want-it’s all there for you.
