Chaplain’s Column:
Brother Knights
In the First Epistle of St. John1: 7, we are told that if we walk in the light as He is also in the Light, we have
fellowship with one another. More than ever before, we must be constant in our belief that God is Light and in Him there is
no darkness, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin. As practical Catholics in communion with the
Holy See and as members of the largest Catholic Fraternity, we should always walk with our Lord in our endeavors. No matter
what pitfalls may lay in our path, He will always be by our side. It is also possible that, if we were able to look back and
just see one set of footprints, He might be carrying us to lighten our burdens.
May the Blessings of our Lord be ever with you.
Father George Brennan, Chaplain

Brother Knights
There is to be a membership Drive in October at St. Patrick’s Church. A call will be made for the members
of the Council to sign up to assist in this drive. However, this officer believes that the best recruiting is done on a one
to one basis. A form 100 was handed to every member in attendance at our last business meeting. If everyone there would bring
in one candidate it would really help our council. Remember, Recruiting is the lifeblood of our council. If we do not succeed
in this, all else will soon disappear for there will be no one to take our place within the council.
Brother Murphy has been diligently pursuing those individuals who will make our social nights a success. For August,
he has Mr. Dennis Flood coming to give us the benefit of his 30 years experience helping people with a wide variety of medical
conditions become stronger, gain better stamina and improve their overall quality of life. Please attend on the 18th
of August.
The Council still needs a Youth Activities Director and members to help on the programs the Council is doing. Please
give us some of your time and effort.
Fraternally Yours in Christ
Ozro N. Barclay, Grand Knight.

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies
We had a nice turnout for our August meeting even though some ladies were on vacation and others were under the
weather. I dislike sounding repetitious, but it would be nice if we could have more ladies attend our meetings, please make
the effort.
Barbara Piccone informed us that she is still checking on caterers for our Ladies “Luau “ on Saturday,
September 17th, that she has some prices and is just waiting for two others.
We will discuss this further at our Sept meeting. She handed out tickets
for all of us to get busy selling them. If anyone that was not at the meeting needs tickets, baskets and items to put in the baskets, but please ladies,
at our next meeting in Sept., we need more items to put in them for our raffle at the Luau.
.
Our next meeting is on Sept. 1st at 7PM in the Parish Center. . Hope to see you there.
A very special “thank you “goes to Chris Boucher for calling everyone to remind them of our meetings
and also to remind us of the “ Council Communion”. This is a great way to remind everyone and prove to be very
successful.
If you haven’t already done so and would like to order a nametag, please let me know and I’ll be happy
to order one for you
Congratulations to Chris Boucher, our lucky 50/50 winner who was kind enough to donate it back into our treasury. Thanks Chris, that was a very nice gesture and really appreciated.
Ladies, just a reminder once again to please join your husbands for the “Corporate Communion” once
a month. It will be held on the third weekend of the month, and will be at a
different mass each month. It would be wonderful to show our support to our Parish and to our council at the different masses.
This month, it will be on Saturday, August 20th at the 4:15 Mass.
I’m looking forward to the delicious Fish dinner the Knights are having on Friday, August 19th
in the parish Center—check the church bulletin for more information—the time is from 5:00 to7:30 PM
See you there! And ladies, please remember to bring dessert; the Knights truly appreciate our help. Thank you
Keep our “under the weather” members in your prayers. If you know of any member that is ill, please
give Josephine Spellman (379-0597) or me a call.(922-4088)
Let us pray for peace, our men and women in the service and for our family and friends
A handful of patience is worth more than a bushel of brains
God Bless. Loretta L. Naimo, President

My Brother
Knights
Probably
the first “protest” that an insurance representative hears when visiting a fellow Brother Knight is “ I have enough insurance” or “my family is fully insured, we do not need any more”.
That might
have been true when you last spoke to an insurance representative some 15, 20, 25, or even some 30 years ago. However, when
you consider what the cost of living is today, compared to when you last had your insurance reviewed, can you truthfully say,
“My family will not suffer any loss of income. They will be able to pay the bills and still live comfortably”?
If there
is the least amount of doubt in your mind at all, please call our council Insurance Representative, Ron Foley, (941-776-1071) and make an appointment to have him review your insurance package with you.

Cast
your Bread upon the waters, for after a time you will find it again
Eccl. 11:1
Serving
others, Serving God
Being
needed brings joy and is ever strong
In keeping
our hearts flooded with song!
May the
lord ever give me others to help,
Not lay
me aside on unused shelf!
Let me
never grow weary, lazy, or slack-
For bread
cast on waters surely comes back
And the
pittance I give, His grace multiplies
Making
rich my soul ‘fore it shrivels and dies!
For no
goodness I do enriches God,
Our giving
to Him a useless job.
His desire-we
help His dear ones on earth,
This
way we do show we are putting Him first!
Its this
giving to others, this giving of love.
That’s
surely what pleases our sweet Lord above.
Serving
others for Him, brings joy and earned rest.
The life
we find then—the life that is best
