Chaplain’s Column:
Brother Knights
I was privileged to be able to participate in the 2nd Degree of the Knights of Columbus in May. It became much clearer why so many of
our Catholic men have worked so hard and long to insure that the principles of the order are fulfilled. Each month, when I
observe the quiet, but meaningful, ways the members of this council are trying to bring the congregations of this church closer
into a strong feeling of belonging –of becoming a family within the church—I become more grateful that I did become
a member.
It is now the time of year that we put aside our daily work and have already left for our homes in other states,
or take our trips to far-away places or even a simple time away from home with our families. However, it is also the time
when we have a tendency to put our Lord on vacation also. We get so engrossed in what we are doing that we do not have the
time to say our prayers, to give thanks for the food we are eating, or perhaps to even forget to say our rosaries.
What I am going to ask of you is that you do make that special time when you talk to our Lord and not only ask
for your special needs, but to also thank
Him for the glorious start of your day, the good times of the day and evening and for your families. Thank Him
also for the unanswered prayers that your have yet to see and thank Him for choosing what is best for you. Open your hearts
and minds to Him and ask him to always dwell within you.
May the Blessings of our Lord be ever with you.
Father George Brennan, Chaplain

Grand Knight’s Column
Brother Knights
It was disappointing to see the turnout(29 members) on June 2 for the election of officers. The election proceedings
were turned over to our District Deputy who then conducted the election according to K of C rules and regulations. A listing
will be shown elsewhere as to the Councils new Officers.
Our show on May 20th was not well attended, probably for many reasons. We cleared in the neighborhood
of $130 where if all the knights had helped with the ticket sales, we should have made between $1300 -$1400.
Please notify the Grand Knight, or the Deputy Grand Knight, or the Chancellor when you hear of a serious sickness,
accident, or death of a Member or his Family so the Phone Tree may be initiated in a timely manner.
One of the greatest fears of any Council is that they will get a repudiation of a clique running the show. Please
step up to the plate when you are contacted to help with the operations of the Council. In this way, more of you can learn
the duties and responsibilities of Council Officers and be ready to lead the Council to a higher level.
Yours in Christ
Ozro N. Barclay, Grand Knight.

Faithful Navigator Report
Dear Sir Knights and Ladies
I can’t believe that this is my last report as Faithful Navigator. It has been an honor and a wonderful experience
to be your leader for this past year. We had a wonderful year with lots of activities and a first. They include:
A Spanish Dinner, which was a great success and lots of fun.
Our contribution to the new VAVS program of $600 to help our hospitalized veterans.
A $500 bond to our essay contestant recipient on Patriotism
Our seminarian and clergy received over $1500.
The class of 2004 finally put on a great dinner and show.
The Italian fest put on by PFN Sam Perri was a Great feast.
Participation in Veterans Day and St Patrick Day parades, plus our Corporate Communions in St. Martha, St Patrick. St Thomas and Incarnation
Church was a great way to show off our Knights in regalia
My only regret was that I could not get more involvement of St Patricks in our assembly I am very sorry to announce that Peter Sardina,
our Faithful Captain, had to resign his bid for Faithful Navigator due to personal reasons, but he promises he will attend
some meetings and will give us his continued support. He will be missed by me and the assembly
I cannot end my term without saying a special thanks to our Ladies for all their help in setting up tables and
decorations throughout the year. I also want to say Thanks to all my brother Knights for their help and advice.
Fraternally, Your Faithful Navigator ,
Don Donovan

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies
Many thanks to all that were present at our meeting in June. Our attendance was a little on the low side due to
vacations, surgery, and illness, but we did manage to get a few things accomplished.
I dislike sounding repetitious, but it would be nice if we could have a better turnout at our meetings—
please make an effort. We can always use your suggestions and more ideas.
Our “Luau” is set for Saturday, September 17th, starting at 6 PM. Barbara has hired the
Tony DiBianca Trio for our listening and dancing pleasure. She will also be looking
into a caterer and will have tickets ready for our July Meeting.
Corky has secured the date for our Fashion Show and Luncheon”—It will be held on Saturday, March 11th
at Laurel Oak Country Club and Drapers & Damon’s will provide the fashions.
Our nest meeting is on Thursday, July 7th at 7PM in the Parish Hall—hope to see you there.
If you haven’t already done so and would like to order a nametag, please let me know and I’ll be happy
to order one for you.
Ladies, just a reminder once again to please join your husbands on the third Sunday of the month at the 11:30 Mass
for the Council Communion. It would be wonderful to show our support.( editors note—The corporate mass for June will
be on the 19th at 9:30 Mass and in August it will be on August 20th at the 4:15 Mass)
As I am writing this article, I am looking forward to the delicious chicken dinner the Knights are having Friday,
June 11th in the parish hall. They will also be having one in July
and August—check the church bulletins for the dates—the time is from 5:30 to 7:30 PM See you there! And Ladies,
don’t forget to bring dessert. Thank you.
Keep our “under the weather” members in your prayers. If you know of any member that is ill, please
give Josephine Spellman (379-0597) or me a call.(922-4088)
Let us pray for peace, our men and women in the service and for our family and friends
An error becomes a mistake only when you refuse to correct it.
God Bless. Loretta L. Naimo, President

Guided by Prayer
Every time I close my eyes,
I go to the Lord in prayer.
I thank Him for the life I’ve had
If tomorrow is not there.
He held me close and surrounded me
With all the love he has
He told me that he’d carry me
If things start looking bad.
So now when I get nervous
Or just a little scared,
I know the Lord is here with me
Just guided by my prayers
