Chaplain’s Column:
Brother Knights
We were truly fortunate this May as our meeting fell on Ascension Day, the day our Lord rose into the heavens to
be seen no more in the human form until the day He will return to lead His chosen ones into His Kingdom. When that day will
come is not for us to know, but for us to be prepared at all times for only He knows the time and day. I say that we were
fortunate as it soon will be the time when He sent the Holy Spirit to us that we would have His help in our preparation for
His Coming.
We, as Knights, believe that by abiding by our statement and pledge that we made when we signed our application
form answering the statement “Are you a practical Catholic in communion with the Holy See” we are prepared.. To
many, this means that by partaking of the Sacraments of the Catholic Faith, raising our families in that faith and by gong
to church every Sunday and other religious days, that we are living up to that pledge and have prepared ourselves to meet
Jesus when he does return. However, we fail to remember that basic truth that our Lord has taught us –and that is to
Love. Yes, we do love our families and friends, our good neighbors and fellow workers, but do we give out the “Hard Love”? By
that I mean -do we give our love to those who seem to be always critical of us, speak wrongly about us- have hurt us in some
way, or even has tried to estrange us from others?
This is the “Hard Love! To be able to really forgive other their faults and to tell them that you care for
them and will pray for them so that the Holy Spirit can help them to prepare. Go up to that brother, neighbor, fellow worker
or the individual who has done a wrong to you and tell them that you do forgive them, that you love them, and will pray for
them. This is what we must do if we truly believe in and are abiding by our pledge “ to be a practical Catholic in Communion
with the Holy See.” When we can do this, we have better prepared ourselves for that time and day.
May the Blessings of our Lord be ever with you.
Father George Brennan, Chaplain

Brother Knights
As the Council approaches the end of the fiscal year, we have four events that are taking place for all members
to help make this year successful as a council. First is the Show on May 20th in the Parish Center featuring Cliff
Ritchie, an entertainer and comedian who has traveled all over the USA and England. As was said in our meetings, the council
can raise about $1000 with little effort. This will enable us to help our Church with more projects, as well as being able
to do more charitable works. Our 2nd event is our Business Meeting on June 2nd when you have the opportunity
to elect your officers for the year 2005-2006. It is hoped that many of you will turn out to cast your ballot. The 3rd
event will be to award Tommy Boucher a Trophy for having been chosen as a best Altar Server in the Diocese of Venice. In accordance
with the family’s wishes, this will take place at the 9:30 Mass on June 19. We will have our Corporate Mass at the 9:30
Mass also. The Trophy will be picked up at the State Convention. The 4th event will be a Chicken Dinner on June
10th similar to our Lenten Fish Dinners.
With the three new members who joined our Council this month, we now have 95 members, but a membership drive is
never ending for there are many members of our Parish who have never been asked. Who do you know that is soon graduating from
High School and is a member of our Parish? Who is moving in as your neighbor and is going to join the Church? Who do you know
that graduated from RICA and are now members of our Church. There are many possibilities we just have to look.
With your help, this council will have had a good year.
Yours in Christ
Ozro N. Barclay, Grand Knight.

Faithful Navigator Report
Dear Sir Knights and Ladies
I can’t believe that there are less than two more months of my term in office. They say “Time flies
when you’re having fun” and I know that is true in my case. From what I hear, we have an excellent slate of upcoming
officers for the year 2005-2006.
The Patriotic Ball, which will be on May 21, is our assembly’s biggest dinner/dance of the year. I do hope
that everyone has got their tickets so we can have an accurate headcount. The evening will include Prime Rib Dinner with all
the trimmings and dancing
by Joe Rivers Band. This should definitely be a night to remember.
The General Assembly meeting and election of officers will be on May 26th at 8:00 PM. Please plan to
be there to cast your vote.
Fraternally, Your Faithful Navigator ,Don Donovan

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies
I would like to thank all the ladies that were present at our meeting in May. Even though our attendance was low,
I’m happy to say that we managed to get a few things resolved. I realize I always say this, but it would be nice if
we could have a better turn out at our meetings, we can always use your suggestions and more ideas. We all agreed to have
another “Luau” in September. Barbara has volunteered to chair this event once again, with Rosemary Biondolillo
as her co-chair. The date is set for Saturday, September 17th—so mark your calendars.
Our next meeting is on Thursday, June 2nd at 7PM in the parish hall --hope to see you there.
If you haven’t already done so and would like to order a nametag, please let me know and I’ll be happy
to order one for you. As I write this article, I am managing to sell some tickets for the “Big Show” the Knights
are having on Friday, May 20th. I hope that we all sell tickets and have a good turnout. Don’t forget, Ladies, to bring some cookies for
refreshments after the show.
Congratulations to Chris Boucher, our lucky 50/50 winner.
Ladies, just a reminder once again to please join your husbands on the third Sunday of the month at the 11:30 Mass
for the Council Communion. It would be wonderful to show our support.
Keep our “under the weather” members in your prayers. If you know of any member that is ill, please
give Josephine Spellman or me a call.
Congratulations to Mike Capriola—he was awarded an “Honorary Life Membership” and the Grand Knight
invited the ladies to join in for the ceremony. It certainly was nice of him to include us, and it was our pleasure to be
there.
I’d like to wish all Fathers and Grandfathers a very Happy Fathers Day
Let us pray for peace, our men and women in the service and for our family and friends
An apology is the super glue of life—it can repair just about anything
God Bless. Loretta L. Naimo, President
Congratulations

Membership Drive April 30-May 1, 2005
Our thanks go out to those Knights who participated in our Membership drive. A special Thanks goes to our District
Deputy, Lenny Anzalone, and our Insurance Representative, Ron Foley for their help on both days. We did not sign up any new
members, however we did talk to many men of the Parish and gave out many form 100s. We have to follow up on those. If we will
keep doing things to help our church and community, it will happen as in the movie “Field of Dreams”. Build
a better Council and they will come.
