Chaplain’s Column:
Brother Knights
This column was going to be one in which you, my Brother Knights, could be told just how much of an impact our
Council is making on the congregation of St. Patrick’s Church. It has been two years since you have received your charter
and you have shown just how much an organization as The Knights of Columbus means to a parish such as ours. When I was asked
to become a Knight for about the umpteenth time, not even listening to any explanation of the Order or its beliefs and principles,
I reluctantly agreed to become a member. I had watched and learned in the twenty months or so that the members of the Council
were dedicated men who worked hard at what they believed in. When I did take
the First Degree and became your Chaplain, it was more apparent of your dedication and work for the church, local community,
country and your God. I am truly proud to have become a part of the Knights of Columbus and Council #13307.
But now every heart is sad due to the death of our beloved Pontiff, Pope John Paul II. He was truly a “Great
Fisherman” for his Church. A humble man, he so impressed the World that Heads of Countries
Leaders of other Faiths on down to the common people as you and I now mourn his passing. I ask, that as you pray your rosaries, you ask our Lord to
welcome him into the Kingdom of God and to guide the College of Cardinals in electing another Shepherd of the Flock as our
next leader and Pope.
May the Blessings of our Lord be ever with you.
Father George Brennan, Chaplain
Grand Knight’s Column
Brother Knights
Although we have completed many activities from the start of our fiscal year and have crossed over a few hurdles,
the council still has at least another year in which to grow and be firmly rooted as a viable arm of St Patrick’s Church
and the Knights of Columbus. The efforts put forth by many of the members were, and still are very laudable. Brother Andrews
has volunteered to come up with ideas whereby the council members can enjoy themselves as a group while still doing their
fund-raisers and some dinners.
The nominating Committee has given their report and requests for nominations from the floor were made in our business
meeting this month. The slate is printed further in this paper. Voting will be conducted at the meeting on June 2nd. However
at the May meeting and again in June, there will be a call for nominations from the floor prior to any voting. If you are
not satisfied with the slate as presented, please turn out, make your nominations from the floor (be sure that your choice
will accept your nomination) and then vote for your choice of officers.
Yours in Christ
Ozro N. Barclay, Grand Knight.
Handicap Drive
We knew that Ron Kosey and his merry Knights would do a fine job in collecting for the Handicap Drive, but it is
my great pleasure to say they did a fantastic job, collecting over $ 1200 at the church and over $400 on one day at Publix
at Clark and Honoree. This is a record that will be hard to beat in future years. Again Special Olympics and the Council thank
you for your efforts
Congratulations

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies
I would like to thank all the ladies that were present at our meeting in April in spite of the storm. Even though
our attendance was low, I’m happy to say that we managed to get a few things resolved. I realize I always say this,
but it would be nice if we could have a better turn out at our meetings for we can always use your suggestions and more ideas.
Our next meeting is on Thursday, May 4th at 7PM in the parish hall-hope to see you there. .
If you haven’t already done so and would like to order a nametag, please let me know and I’ll be happy
to order one for you.
Congratulations to Diane Parotino, our lucky 50/50 winner.
Our Grand Knight Oz has Bob Harrigan from Channel 7 News as our next speaker at the men’s social night. He will be speaking to us about the next hurricane season, which is just around the corner and it should be very interesting
and informative. Hopefully, we’ll have a good turnout.
Thanks again for the ladies that baked or bought cakes for the “:fish frys”. The Knights and all that attended looked forward to those delicious desserts.
Ladies, just a reminder once again to please join your husbands on the third Sunday of the month at the 11:30 Mass
for the Council Communion. It would be wonderful to show our support.
Keep our “under the weather” members in your prayers. If you know of any member that is ill, please
give Josephine Spellman a call.
I’d like to wish all Mothers and Grandmothers a very Happy Mothers Day
Let us pray for peace, our men and women in the service and for our family and friends
God Bless. Loretta L. Naimo, President
Congratulations

been opened to our wives and any church members who desire to attend.
