Grand Knight’s Column
Brother Knights
We are now entering into the year 2004-2005
with your new officers exhibiting a “can do” spirit. This spirit will do much to solidify our Councils basic principles—Charity,
Unity, Fraternalism, and patriotism. All officers, both elected and appointed have begun to establish our service programs
that will have many benefits to our Church, Community, Families, Youths, and Council.
But a successful Council cannot accomplish
its programs and events without the participation of all Council members. There is a saying ”Many hands make light
work”. This means that with all members pitching in to do their part on one committee or another, no member will need
to really exert themselves beyond their available time or effort. If you haven’t completed the Member Survey form as
yet, please do so at our next meeting and return it to Chancellor Rivers. That way, we will know how you can best help our
Council according to your interests. At this time, your Grand Knight issues a challenge for you (and you know to whom
this means) to come to the meetings, get involved and get the great feeling of belonging to an outstanding organization. With your help, it will be so!!
Your Board of Officers have decided that
our meetings will be held in the following manner: The first Thursday of each month will be regular business meeting, then
as the Ladies Auxiliary meets on the same night, it will be followed by coffee and perhaps a dessert ,or pizza so that the
Ladies and Members can visit . The third Thursday of each month will be varied with a short business meeting, followed be
either training discussions on how to best accomplish our programs or talks by our own members on interesting subjects as
past or present job experiences, or outside speakers from
the Community. Then
we will have time to just socialize with
our fellow members, over coffee/sodas and eats.
Your Grand Knight was very pleased with
the many members at our first meeting on the First of this Month and he prays that this increase in attendance will continue.
He will strive to make the meetings interesting and held within a reasonable length of time. With your help, he will do so.
And now, may the Blessed Virgin Mary be
ever remembered in your prayers and that her Son, Our Lord and Savior watch over you and your Families now and forever!
Your Grand Knight
Ozro N. Barclay

Faithful Navigator Report
Dear Sir Knights and Ladies
It is an honor and a privilege to be elected
Faithful Navigator and I promise to do my best to lead us into a prosperous new year. I am pleased to have an excellent slate
of officers to help guide us. I look forward to their ideas and help.
I wish to make our meetings more enjoyable
and informative, and don’t want them to be “just another Thursday night meeting”. I encourage everyone not
only our officers to give me their ideas for a better meeting, The past few months have made me proud to be a member of the
Patriotic Degree. These memorable events included Memorial Day, where we honored all of our service men. both past and present,. the 60th Anniversary of World War 2, Presidents Day honoring a great President,
Ronald Reagan, and the 4th of July honoring our great country.
It is a privilege to be amember of the
Knights of Columbus and the 4th Degree, the Patriotic Degree, of the Order. I encourage all members of the 3rd
Degree to join us and become proud members.
The installation of officers of the 4th
degree will be on Saturday, August 28th, at t:30
July 8 and Aug 12—Officers meeting 7:30 PM
July 22 and Aug 26-Assembly Meeting 8:00 PM

Council #13307 –Ladies Auxiliary
Dear Ladies
At our July meeting, there were 16 members
present. We have 24 paid-up members, and I hope and pray that more ladies will
decide to join our group. Please try and attend our meetings; we can certainly use your suggestions.
Our next meeting is scheduled for Thursday,
August 5th, at 7 PM in the parish hall—the same time the men have their meeting, so Ladies, please come and join us
and ride with your husbands
The Council will be holding a “chicken
dinner” on August 13th at the Parish Hall and it would be nice if we could all attend and give our support
the men who work so hard to make these dinners successful.
I would like to thank Rosemary Biondollilo
who donated her winnings on the 50/50 raffle back to the auxiliary for deposit.
Ladies, please join your husbands the
third Sunday of every month at the 11:30 Mass for the “Council Communion” It would so nice if we could show our
support have a large turnout.
Some of the Ladies brought in and showed
us the “angels” they made for the quilt that Marie Becker will eventually put together.
The Luau planned for September is off
and running. Barbara Piccione and Marge Barclay have things well under control, with their ideas and suggestions. Now all
we have to do is sell some tickets and have a good time Ladies, don’t forget to bring in some goodies for our “basket”
to be raffled off. (Marge was kind enough to bring in and donate the basket).
Our “show” for January has
also been booked and taken care of., thanks, Marge.
There is a change for the “Fashion
Show & Luncheon” in March. It will now be held at Laurel Oaks, and Geri Welch and Jenni McGinn (with the help of
Helen Parafinczuk) are looking into things. I think we had a very productive meeting. Thanks for your cooperation.
If you know of any member that is under
the weather, please give our “sunshine Lady”, Josephine, a call at
379-0597.
After our meeting was adjourned, we were
invited to join the Knights for refreshments.I’m happy to report that aty that time our Grand Knight, Oz Barclay, presented
me with a check for the amount I requested, which I immediately handed over to our Treasurer, Diane Parotino for Deposit.
Thanks to Oz and the Council for approving my request.
Hope
to see all of you at the next meeting
Let
us all pray for peace and each other. God Bless.
